Gränsfors Bruk Axe
Guarantee and Warranty Process
20-year warranty
Gränsfors Bruk axe heads carry a 20-year guarantee against defects that can be directly linked to the manufacturing process. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, damage caused by improper use, lack of maintenance, or contact with something more than rigid than wood. Handles and sheaths are considered to be a wear-and-tear items, which in case of continuous or heavy use will need to be replaced periodically. These are not covered by the 20 year warranty, but are available for purchase.
Gränsfors Bruk AB and it’s distribution network are not responsible for injury or damage resulting in use of Gransfors Bruk axes.
Craftsmanship
Gränsfors Bruk’s axes are handcrafted and each axe is unique. Since all axes are hand-forged, the appearance of the axes may differ. For example, there can be marks after the forging or some variations in the shape and dimensions. This is however something we are proud of. These natural variations are not classified as manufacturing defects, but rather a hallmark of your axe being shaped by a human hand.
Axe-head
The axe’s head is made of steel which means that it is sensitive to moisture that can cause your axe to rust. Be sure to always wipe your axe-head after use and lubricate it with oil.
The axe’s edge is sensitive to strikes by hard materials like stone. Always be sure not to use the axe in such a way that the edge can hit stone or other hard materials. Improper use may result in the steel edge get chipped.
No axe from Gränsfors Bruk can be used as a hammer/sledgehammer, except the Gränsfors Bruk Splitting Maul. Improper use may result in cracks to the axe head and may misshapen the eye of the axe, compromising the integrity of the head-to-handle fit.
Axe-handle
The axe’s handle is made of wood which is a “living” organic material. The axe-handle will shrink or expand depending on its moisture content. It is of the utmost importance that the handle is oiled regularly and that the axe is stored in a neither too dry nor too damp of a surrounding.
The axe-handle is considered to be a wear-and-tear item, which in the case of continuous or heavy use will need to be replaced over time. The axe-handle is not covered by the 20-year warranty, but replacements are available for purchase.
Axe-sheath
The axe’s sheath – also referred to as an edge guard – is made of leather. Leather is an organic material that will be affected by moisture. Always be sure that both the axe-head and sheath are dry before putting the sheath on the axe. Regularly lubricate the sheath with leather conditioner to increase resistance to moisture.
The sheath is considered to be a wear-and-tear item, which in the case of the continuous or heavy use will need to be replaced over time. The sheath is not covered by the 20-year warranty, but replacements are available for purchase.

Svedbro Smide Wrecking Bar
Guarantee and Warranty Process:
20-year warranty
Svedbro Smide wrecking bars carry a 20-year guarantee against defects in the steel and workmanship. Each bar is date stamped upon manufacture. This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, rust, damage or breakage due to improper use or lack of routine maintenance. See notes on wrecking bar care and correct usage, below.
Gränsfors Bruk AB / Svedbro Smide and it’s distribution network are not responsible for injury or damage resulting in use of Svedbro Smide wrecking bars.
Bar Care and Correct Usage
The wrecking bar should always be dried before being stored. It is made of high quality hand-forged steel. Steel is an alloy of iron and other elements and will therefore rust readily if left exposed to moisture. The bar should be periodically coated with oil to create a moisture barrier and eliminate the opportunity for rust to form.
When using the fork end of the bar, force should be applied evenly to both sides of the fork. If force is exerted unevenly, against only one side at a time, the steel on that side can fracture and permanently damage the tool. The bar is not designed for this.
