Description

The Gränsfors Small Carving Axe is used for woodworking and design where precision and control are particularly important. The smaller size makes the axe perfect for those who are just starting out with carving, or who prefer a lighter tool. This model is based on Large Swedish Carving Axe but is scaled to about 80% of the original size.

The handle is made of hickory and is slightly thicker than the walnut handle used in the limited-edition version, an adjustment made based on customer feedback.

Every carver is different, but generally the left beveled version (471-2) is more specialized for right-handed carving, and the right beveled version (471-3) is specialized for left-handed carving.
